Alliant Physical Therapy Group LLC and Blankenheim Services LLC join forces

Alliant Physical Therapy Group LLC, and Blankenheim Services LLC announce that they are joining forces to expand their rehabilitation services.

This collaborative effort will result in a systematic approach to managing musculoskeletal injuries resulting from both work and non-work activities. Alliant Physical Therapy and Blankenheim Services will work together to help enhance care provided to injured persons throughout the Midwest.

Alliant Physical Therapy Group LLC, based in Racine WI, is a group of 20 providers at 14 clinics located in SE Wisconsin. Alliant Physical Therapy’s president and CEO Chad Novasic PT, is “excited about the opportunity to work with Blankenheim Services. Blankenheim’s expertise in ergonomics, on-site therapy and preventative services, and injury management systems offer us superior worker’s compensation services, and enables us to expand our efforts in helping employers control injury related cost. “

Blankenheim Services LLC, based in Appleton WI, is the nation’s premiere provider of on-site preventative and rehabilitation services for industry. Blankenheim Services currently has a staff of over 42 Therapy providers, ergonomists, engineers and staff in 8 states and serving over 65 employers. Eric Blankenheim OTR, MSIE, CPE, CSP and President of Blankenheim Services states “ Working with Alliant will help us expand our services into the SouthEast Wisconsin area, and allow us to work with both large and smaller employers. Working with Alliant will also allow us to expand our services to our existing clients beyond work related injuries.”

Alliant Physical Therapy Group and Blankenheim Services plan on rolling these joint services out to the public in September 2011.

Chai Rasavong MPT, MBA to assume operations of Hales Corners Clinic

Alliant Physical Therapy Group LLC announces that Chai Rasavong MPT, MBA has signed a contract to assume clinic operations at Alliant’s Hales Corners location at 5301 S. 108th Street.

Chai has worked with Alliant Physical Therapy group for the last 2 years helping expand the practice as director of business development. Alliant is excited to have Chai as a clinic operator himself. “ I am confident that Chai will be an excellent addition to the Alliant PT team as an owner/operator of our Hales Corners location” Said Chad Novasic PT, President/CEO of Alliant Physical Therapy Group LLC. “ Chai’s business knowledge coupled with his excellent clinical skills will be an asset to the Hales Corners community”

Alliant Physical Therapy Group is proud to announce the addition of Kristin Konicek PT, DPT to the list of quality Physical Therapists who provide Physical Therapy services as a part of the Alliant Physical Therapy Group. Kristin is excited to bring her skills as a manual therapist with an emphasis in orthopedics and Sports Medicine to the Hales Corners and Greenfield area. Kristin has experience in a variety of ages and patient populations including geriatrics, sports medicine, accident or work related injury and a variety of orthopedic disorders. Alliant Physical Therapy Group is proud to announce the addition of Thomas Malone Jr. P.T. to the list of quality Physical Therapists who provide Physical Therapy services as a part of the Alliant Physical Therapy Group. Thomas has a long history of providing Physical Therapy to the community. Thomas Graduated from Marquette University Physical Therapy program in 1974. Thomas has practiced as a Physical Therapist since then working on his skills as a Manual Therapist including being certified in Total Motion Release therapy. Thomas has also achieved certification in personal training as an Expert Trainer. Thomas’s future plans include serving the north side of Milwaukee as a physical therapist/master personal trainer to address the social, medical and physical needs of its residents. PT Classroom - Basic Equipment for Starting a Private Physical Therapy Practice

Chad Novasic is the President and CEO of Alliant Physical Therapy Group. He is a 1988 graduate of Marquette University. His focus has been in the field of outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation and injury prevention. Chad has been an independent Physical Therapist since 1989. He is proud to be active in the community having served as President of the Wisconsin Independent Physical Therapists, and on the Board of the Racine Founders Rotary and the Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association. Over the years, Chad's passion for physical therapy and helping others has complimented his capacity to help fellow physical therapists open and run successful private physical therapy practices. Basic Equipment for Starting a Private Physical Therapy Practice - Starting your own private physical therapy practice can be very exciting and challenging. There are a number of questions that need to be answered and a multitude of tasks to complete. When selecting equipment for your practice there are a variety of options available that may vary considerably in regards to costs. Since most new private practice owners may have a limited budget, a detailed analysis of your specific needs and the costs required to satisfy those needs should be carefully thought out. One of the biggest mistakes a new owner can make is to “put the cart in front of the horse”.

Often times, many new private practice owners will feel like they should have all of the same equipment which established clinics have. One thing that a new practice owner should remember is that those established clinics most likely didn’t have every single piece of equipment from the onset. It most likely took time for those clinics to further establish themselves both market wise and financially before pursuing further purchases.

When selecting equipment, the APTA Private Practice Section’s “The How-To Manual” (1) recommends the following:
1) create two lists
a) the first list should include a list of the diagnoses, joint problems, and patient populations which you most likely will be treating.
b) the second list should include the most important type of equipment and clinical furniture for each clinical category.
2) rate the overall importance of each piece of equipment on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 not very important – 5 very important)
3) rate the versatility of each prospective piece of equipment on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 not very versatile – 5 very versatile)
4) select equipment items, within your budget, that meet all your essential needs and that because of their versatility can serve as many of your secondary and tertiary needs as possible

Utilizing the selection process mentioned above should allow you to not only have a better understanding of your needs but be able to prioritize them as well. A list of some of the equipment to consider for starting a private physical therapy practice are included below:

• marketing material – ie. referral pads, brochures, business cards, etc.

• treatment tables (wooden or high/low)

• physioball
• freezer/ice packs
• ultrasound machine/ultrasound gel warmer
• e-stim machine
• hydroculator/hot packs
• parallel bars or railing
• medicine balls
• wand/stick
• pulleys set
• exercise prescription software program or exercise flashcards for copy
• stackable steps

As your practice continues to grow you will learn more about your needs and you will eventually be able to purchase the additional equipment which will make the most sense for your practice. Meanwhile don’t hesitate to generate a wish list of equipment which you would like to obtain in the future once your practice is more established. You can utilize the same selection process mentioned above to prioritize your wish list. Through careful planning and hard work you will realize your full potential and enjoy the benefits of being in private practice even more.

Many clinics find that early cash flow is a problem. One easy way to help your cash flow is to lease your long term equipment. In start up practices “cash is king” so don’t tie up all of your start up capital in equipment.
